St. Aegyd am Neuwalde

Description

The market town of St. Aegyd am Neuwalde is located in the upper Traisental valley at the foot of the Gippel (1,669 m) and Göller (1,766 m). With its numerous walking and hiking trails, St. Aegyd is an ideal vacation destination for nature lovers. Around 50 kilometers of hiking trails lead to the peaks, to rustic mountain huts and alpine huts, to magnificent viewing points. The Viennese pilgrimage route 06 also leads through St. Aegyd and to Mariazell. The solar-heated Göllerbad is a popular meeting place in summer.

Four T-bar lifts and five cross-country ski trails make St. Aegyd a popular vacation destination in winter. Cross-country skiers and winter hikers in particular are in good hands at the Nordic Center in St. Aegyd, where the nordic sports academy offers courses and advice.
