Description
The path starts in Perchtoldsdorf at the parish church and leads via the Pfarrer-Karl-Seemann-Promenade into the Föhrenberge Nature Park to Parapluieberg (Franz Ferdinand shelter, 01:15 h). From there, through light deciduous forests, it continues over the Kammersteiner hut, Kugelwiese, and Seewiese – past Wildegg Castle – to Sittendorf (03:00 h). Via the Füllenberg dairy farm, one reaches the motorway underpass, behind which lies the Heiligenkreuz cemetery. From the cemetery, you soon reach the baroque Calvary hill of Heiligenkreuz Abbey, over which one reaches the abbey in a few minutes (01:30 h). Finally, from the abbey, you reach Mayerling (01:15 h).
Wien-Rodaun variant: With this variant, you start from Wien-Rodaun (final stop of tram line 60), go via Schillerpromenade into the Perchtoldsdorf municipal area, pass by the forest sanatorium, and go to Perchtoldsdorf heath. At Parapluieberg, you meet the ascent coming from Perchtoldsdorf.
