Mariazeller Heimathaus

The Heimathaus Mariazell documents the history and culture of the Mariazell region on five floors. Numerous showrooms are dedicated to pilgrimage, customs, winter sports, iron processing, rural life, alpine farming and logging as well as the Mariazell Railway. Original exhibits, historical photographic documents and reconstructed huts vividly convey the life of times gone by. The building itself dates back to the 17th century and originally served as a citizens' hospital.
