Description

Seitenstetten Benedictine Abbey is a cultural, spiritual and garden-historical center in the Mostviertel region. The monastery complex includes an early Gothic baroque collegiate church, artistically designed representative rooms such as the marble hall and the historic library with ceiling frescoes by Paul Troger, the abbey staircase and a Romanesque knights' chapel. The Abbey Gallery presents works by important artists such as Kremser Schmidt. The multi-award-winning courtyard garden combines rose, herb and sensory gardens on a historical basis and is even a listed building.
Guided tours, seminars, exhibitions and spiritual offerings as well as overnight accommodation complete the wide range of options for those interested in culture, garden lovers and pilgrims.
