Brief description

St. Aegyd am Neuwalde - Gscheid - Walstern - Mariazell

Description

The forest ravine of the Unrechttraisen leads – only steepening at the end – to Kernhofer Gscheid (3:30 h). From St. Aegyd, there is also the possibility to reach Gscheid via Kernhof. After Gscheid follows a road section, then you turn onto a forest road and cross the Krumbach saddle into the Walstern valley (junction of the Falkenschlucht path from Türnitz). The path continues alongside Lake Hubertus (on asphalt) to Bruder Klaus Church (2:30 h). From here, you walk westward in the Walstern valley to the junction to the moderately strenuous Habertheuer saddle. Once there, you descend to the Sebastiani path and Rosary path and continue on this to the Mariazell Shrine Church (3:15 h from Walstern).
